French Minister Calls For Expansion of Ties With Iran

PARIS French Minister of Culture and Communications Catherine Tasca here on Tuesday called for expansion of Tehran-Paris cultural cooperation.
In a meeting with Iran's Ambassador to Paris, Alireza Mo'ayeri, she stressed that exchange of views in the area of art would lead to further promotion of cultural ties between the two countries.
Praising Iran's successes in international art festivals including the French Autumn Art Festival, she expressed satisfaction with the current level of friendly ties between the two states.
Referring to the rich Iranian culture, she expressed hope that she would visit the Islamic Republic in an appropriate time.
For his part, the Iranian ambassador recalled sweet memories of the Iranian nation from France particularly the temporary lodging of the Founder of the Islamic Revolution, the late Imam Khomeini in that country.
The latest developments in Tehran-Paris cultural relations following the visit to France of President Mohammad Khatami were also discussed by the two officials.
